Have you seen this picture of Samuel?

Have you read this article about Samuel?

Is their really anything intelligible to debate for abortion?

Senator Brownback had this to say:

"There is little debate about whether the child in utero is alive; the debate is over whether or not the child is a life worthy of protection. That is a debate we will continue to have and will have another day."

There are viable options.

Check it out.

I'm also opposed to abortion and would never consider having one myself. However, I don't believe it's a debate the government should engage in. That's why I'm pro-choice.

I don't believe a state or nation has the right to tell a person what he or she can do with their body or health. Where would it stop?

My mom has a friend who conceived at the age of 45. This woman thought she was experiencing menopause, but was pregnant. At the time she was a single mother to 4 daughters - ages 12, 16, 18 and 21. Due to a health condition, her ob-gyn informed her that it would be a difficult pregnancy. After obtaining second and third opinions who confirmed her tenuous condition, she opted for an abortion.

This was not a decision she enterred into lightly. I still remember late nights, her sitting at the kitchen table with my mom, talking about her girls and the future and the baby.

What right would the government have to favor an unborn child's future over the life of a mother with four children to raise?

I'm not trying to sway your opinion, but just to provide an alternative perspective.

No issue is black and white, but I'm vehemently opposed to any government passing laws curtailing my freedom, or anyone else's freedom, to live out their lives as they choose.

Mala, I understand your position and your thoughts, I really do, but I don't agree. I think a woman should keep her rights to choose...and as far as I'm concerned the choice was before conception.

Sex isn't childs play. Unless someone is profoundly mentally handicapped they know what the end result of sex could be. Actions have consequences just like taking a loaded gun and pulling the trigger...guess what, it's gonna go bang. So saying women should keep their choice..I agree, and they have one.

Hard nosed? Maybe. I do believe abortion is murder and people should take responsibility for their actions. There is adoption and 9 months to incubate a child is not that inconvenient.

I have friends who have been on the waiting list to adopt for years.

Should the government engage in outlawing murder? If we believe that abortion is the taking of life, I think we have to protect that life.
